London FAQs

How long does an EV charger install take in a typical London terraced house?+
Most single-unit home installs take half a day once the charger's delivered and any DNO work is done. If we're running cable from a rear fuseboard to a front driveway through solid walls, or if we need to upgrade the main fuse, allow a full day. We'll confirm timings after the site survey.
Can you install a charger if I park on-street or in a shared residents' car park?+
On-street installs need council permission and a dedicated crossing, most London boroughs don't approve them. Shared car parks (common in flats) are feasible if you own a designated space and the freeholder or management company agrees. We'll advise on cable routing, supply upgrades and any communal-area regs during the survey.
Do I need a three-phase supply for a fast charger in London?+
No. Most homes have single-phase supplies (up to 100 A) and a 7 kW charger works fine, overnight you'll add 30, 35 miles of range per hour. Three-phase (22 kW) makes sense for commercial fleets or if you're already on three-phase and need faster turnaround. We'll check your supply and recommend the right unit.

We fit Ohme, Zappi, Hypervolt, Andersen and EO, all OZEV-approved, all with smart scheduling and app control. Choice usually comes down to budget, aesthetics and whether you want solar integration or load balancing. We'll talk you through options at survey stage and order once you've decided.
